Welcome! We are so excited to help with any part of your planning/ coordinating process. We know how it can be an exciting but also stressful time for you. We hope to serve you in a way that feels relaxed and fun!
Happy planning!
If you’ve been with us for awhile then hopefully you were able to check out last week’s blog of the things you need to do the night before your wedding. This week we are suggesting some things to do the night before your wedding that will help blow of some steam before the chaos of your big day (beautiful, organized, and well planned chaos, of course).
1. Nothing. Doing nothing is a beautiful experience when planned. Some of you brides may be a bit more on the introvert side and the crowds of people who want to see you is majorly exhausting. You can schedule nothing and literally reply, “Oh sorry, I have plans” when people ask if you want to do other things the night before your wedding. There are so many things you can do while you’re doing nothing that revive your energy and make you feel all the good feels on the inside. There is nothing that makes a beautiful wedding day like a happy, well-rested couple.
2. On the note of rest- sleep. You will not get to enjoy your day if you’re running on a caffeine high and 40 minutes of sleep. You have a team. Even if you didn’t hire a planner and their team, you have your wedding party. You need to be able to tap out at a certain time. So set a bedtime, tell people you have a bedtime, and if there is still stuff to do- tap out. Your people are there to support YOU, use them when you can.
3. If you’re not doing the ‘bachelor/ette party the night before’ thing then you can do a lowkey slumber party or movie night. Someone grab popcorn because we’re screening father of the bride 1 and 2 and doing some homemade facials. We recommend doing this somewhere you don’t have to host and clean-up. It’s a great time to take advantage of great Aunt Tilly’s offer to help in some way (especially if Aunt Tilly has a hot tub 😉 ).
4. Hydrate. To be fair, this should’ve been in last week’s blog because water is, after all, mandatory for life itself. However, we understand that it can become a back-burner pot if we get busy.
Hydration can help you sleep better, improves cognition, and mood. This is because getting enough water regulates body temperature keeping you comfortable. It keeps joints lubricated which prevents inflammation- aka bloating and soreness. It also keeps all internal organs functioning properly, including brain function, etc. Hydration creates the dewy-skinned bride you hope to be on your big day, so drink up!
5. You’re about to marry your favorite human, let them know you love them. Shoot some tiktoks back and forth, call each other before bed and talk about house decor, honeymoon hopes, or- erm- other intimate things. Just find few minutes to connect and remember the all the butterfly moments that led to this moment. Maybe you’re a more practical couple that’s not about the butterflies and such. A short “see you at the alter” with a wink face can go a long way too. Just something that gives you two a connection throughout the busyness is important, but that’s the opinion of an experienced team of planners (and romantics).
Those are some of our self-care recommendations for the eve of your wedding? What would you do if it were your wedding tomorrow and you had an hour or two to kill? Let us know! We always love adding items to our list to recommend to our couples.
Best Wishes to You and Your Beloved,
